Hope Deferred Makes the Heart Sick

Proverbs 13:12 (NIV) 12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

Hope is something incredibly important that we must hold onto. Pray that you are never in the place where you can not see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Hope is a funny thing. We are often told not to get our hopes up, for fear that we get disappointed. The Bible says that hope deferred makes the heart sick.

There are mothers who are looking for peace and comfort while finding themselves in the midst of a storm. There are father’s who are in deep despair; trying to figure out how to provide for their families; physically, spiritually and/or emotionally. Family members who are asking everyone they know to pray for their loved ones.

One thing that everyone needs is hope. Hope allows people in distress to hang on and continue to press forward. Hope allows parents to maintain the mental strength when they see their children suffer. Hope allows individuals who cannot see the light of the tunnel to find some level of peace in the darkness around them.  It is important to understand that hope is a blessing we have through our relationship with the Father.

Continue to Take God at His Word – When we spend time in God’s Word, reading about the historical accounts of God working through the lives of His people, it will give us a great sense of hope, strength, and peace for our lives.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Continue to be Patient and Believe  Once we grasp this understanding, waiting for our perfect God to work and act in His perfect time not only enables us to wait patiently, but it also allows us to wait confidently.

Continue to give God Praise for Everything! Can thanking God be the secret to not losing hope? Can simply waking up each day and saying, ‘thank you, Lord, for the morning’ be the missing piece that so many of us miss?

May we never lose hope in times of deep despair but always look to His Word, His Son, and Believe.  Always Run the race with Jesus and Run to the loving arms of God!!!
