My father in law was 72 years old, and had lived a full life. Today, my Heart is Sad…for it feels the loss of this wonderful “Spirit” who touched my life in so many ways. He lived his Joy and Bliss…like a Hummingbird, guiding from strength and Love. There is so much more I could say about my father in law. Instead, I simply want to thank him for always making me feel like a part of the family. I want to thank him for having raised such a kind, considerate, gentle human being. If a man’s children are in any way a measure of himself and his own accomplishments, then my father in law must have left this earth content.
A wonderful man with a loving, warm heart. Known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor, He never knew a stranger and always had room at his table for you. When he would enter a room everyone would know it…believe me, everyone knew it! Everyone loved Him, he was as genuine as the day is long. The fact he left behind a place that cannot be filled will be the highest tribute to the uniqueness of his soul.
His greatest joy in life was his family and he will always be remembered for his unconditional love. He especially treasured his time with his grandchildren, who provided him with warmth and laughter in his later years. He will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion to countless people. Conversations were one of his primary sources of entertainment.
This special man will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his humorous, outgoing personality and his loving devotion to family, friends. Raymond was especially proud of his grandchildren, as he watched them grow up and play sports in school and though he might have never been on the stands, they could always count on him in his truck watching with binoculars. As Katie puts it best “He was my biggest fan” His legacy of love, sense of humor and laughter is carried in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved him. He gave freely of himself and his time, loved without condition and welcomed all into his heart and home.
Knowing Raymond has been an honor and a blessing for me over the years. In the days ahead without him I will miss our truck talks and exchanging “I love You”, but I will always remember his strength, his love, and smile. May God hold you in the palm of His hand….You will always be loved and greatly missed. Matthew 7:16 puts it best You shall know them by their fruits. Raymond was a man whom produced many fruits.
