The real Christmas spirit is truly in those people who have followed the wise men’s model. They stop their worldly activities, seek the Savior, and offer a special gift to him. Their gift to him is their individual lives. Jesus wants a heart of obedience. Jesus Christ wants true disciples who serve him, and who ultimately glorify God the Father.
Every year I am reminded of the very heart of Christmas — Emanuel, God with us. God wants to be involved in the simple, ordinary happenings of daily life: where we go and what we do, the smile we give the agitated stranger and the patience we exhibit in the crowd of impatient shoppers, the love that prompts the secret gift and the heart that constantly celebrates His birth through every sparkling light, every beautifully wrapped gift, each special meal, every card.
This Christmas and throughout the year, give the Lord the gifts that He’s most delighted with….gifts of love! Give your love! Shine forth the love and peace of Jesus through the light of your eyes, a warm look, compassionate words, and thoughtful deeds. Be like Jesus for others. His Gospel is love. Will you live it? Will you give it?
This Christmas, celebrate “Jesus style”. What better way to live Christmas each and every day of the year than to continually give to those around you, to truly live how He taught us, to show His love in all the little ways throughout the day, to show the world living proof that the love of Jesus works!
May God grant you the light in Christmas which is faith; the warmth of Christmas, which is love; the radiance of Christmas, which is purity; the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice; the belief in Christmas, which is truth and the all of Christmas, which is Christ.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the good news of the birth of Jesus. Choose this Christmas whom you will serve.
